Always on the side of the people of Västerås
Västerås is a strong city, but that strength must be reflected in people’s everyday lives.
It means ensuring that every child attends a safe and high-quality school. That people feel safe in their own neighbourhood. That older people receive dignified care. And that the municipality is governed responsibly and farsightedly.
During this term of office, we have made significant investments to improve public safety, increased teachers’ salaries in two stages, and implemented measures to enhance the quality of elderly care services.
Looking ahead, we want to continue building a safe and unified Västerås – for children and adults of all ages throughout the city.
Everyone should feel safe in Västerås
We want to make Västerås a safer place through closer collaboration with the police and civil society. We also want to give children and young people hope for the future and access to meaningful leisure activities, including by offering more summer jobs and paid work experience.
SEK 100 million to our schools
We plan to invest SEK 100 million in our children’s schools, making them safer and creating better conditions for learning and development. By recruiting more qualified teachers, strengthening school health services and providing targeted support for pupils who need it the most, we can give every child a fair chance to succeed.
Strengthening elderly care by investing in staff
We want to increase the continuity of care for older people by ensuring that they meet fewer home care staff and are more likely to recognise and trust those they do meet. We will do so by strengthening the role of assistance nurses by offering better working conditions, greater influence and separate salary-setting for those who hold the protected professional title.
We ask for your support on 13 September, so that we can continue building a stronger Västerås. Your vote makes a difference.
We are always on the side of the people of Västerås.
